newly wed and seeking a life of prosperity, qiang took his wife to the west to seek out their fortune and raise a plentiful family. as most plans tend to do, though, this one also went awry, and five children later qiang and his wife were feeling the pressure of oncoming school costs.

wanting better for their children than what they'd found for themselves and knowing the rumors which shrouded the witch, qiang and su lin spent many long nights in discussion over what their options were. in the end, love for their children and a desire for their success superseded all else and they finally agreed to the dinner proposal. as expected, their fortune took a turn. all three sons and two daughters graduated with degrees and most are now married with children.

qiang is an old fashioned man for which actions speak louder than words, and he fully embodies this belief. his trust is not easily given, nor is his affection, and as such he tends to reserve discussion for his wife, mostly in their native tongue. he owns a medicinal shop attached to a green house where he uses his gifts to grow the herbs necessary for his widely popular, if questionable, remedies and supplements. however, despite his stoic demeanor, he has a secretive playful streak which, if questioned, will be met with silence and a deceptively stern expression.
